The Danger of the Need for Approval

One of the most crippling factors of performing at your best, especially when you are under pressure is the need for approval.

At first glance many people would say that it’s not true for them but the reality is, it’s hard wired into all of us. So in this video, I explain where the hard wiring came from and how it relates to the need for approval.

However, just because it’s in our nature to want to be accepted or belong, it doesn’t mean that we can’t adjust to create new results.

When I was a competitive athlete it meant the world to me to: get playing time; be on the starting line; be an all star and sometimes even win the Most Valuable Player award. Not so much because I really wanted it but because I thought it would bring me the acceptance I so desperately craved. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize, just how much pressure that type of thinking was putting on me.

I've said it before and it's worth repeating now, striving to fit in...kills whatever gifts God has given you.

In this video, I layout a concept that I wish I had learned during my varsity athlete days and this single idea is not reserved just for athletes. Honestly, I’ve encountered the need for approval at work, with friends and with family and perhaps you have too.

The need for approval can be important. However, it can have a dangerous impact as well.

So, if you want to Find a Way to Win, you need to understand it and know how to manage it.

This video will show you how.

Calvin Strachan made the Find a Way to Win programs after becoming a leader in several multi-million dollar sales organizations ranging from: direct sales to pharmaceutical sales to personal development.
